PayPal has a monopoly on trusted on-line payment systems like Microsoft does on operating systems and similarly there are quirks they don't have a lot of incentive to fix. One is that if your credit card expires or if you change or remove the primary or backup payment mechanism PayPal cancels all of your subscriptions. Until we can fix it, Tribe automatically updates subscription status based on PayPal's reports, including their cancellation reports. This means that if there is a change in status of your PayPal account you could be unsubscribed and lose your star. Please contact us and we will manually reinstate your subscription status for the remainder of your term. You should also notify PayPal in writing to customercare@paypal.com and let them know. Ask them to forward the feedback to their development group. We hope they eventually will address the problem on their side.

Instead of waiting for them to fix it.. please consider putting into your agenda to set up mastercard and visa banking for yourselves. So you know exactly what is happening. no need to reply I see your very busy.. thank you for trying to address the issues. bump for cancelled subscriptors

That is definitely in the plan, but for now we're maintaining the system we inherited until we have the new system ready to roll out. There is a plan, with goals and milestones.

This particular issue is troublesome because it would help a lot if PayPal could actually provide the service it advertises without so much manual intervention. Just today I finally got an answer that was almost clear about how to avoid this problem: Have more than one backup funding source. So, be sure you're funding with your bank account and two credit cards. That way when one card expires, you still have the other one as a backup. Then you can update your expired card without losing your subscription. That seems to be what they're saying will maintain a subscription in good standing, I think.
